Billy ''The Kid '' Schmidt
William "Billy" Schmidt was born May 4,1986 in Southern California to William "Big Billy" and Dawn Schmidt. He lived his early childhood on Catalina Island when his parent divorced and then moved to Glendale, Arizona in 1993.
He attended middle and high school in Arizona, and then moved to Queens, New York after he graduated to start his boxing career.
He spent about 2 years at Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn training with Reggie Ford.
With three amature fights under his belt, he then moved back to Arizona and trained with George Garcia, and had an 8-1 record for the rest of his amature career.
He turned Pro in May of 2009 and had his Pro Debut where he scored a win in a 4 round fight by knocking his opponent down in the second round and scoring a 40-35 unanimous decision.
He has recently switched gyms and is now training at 5 time world champion Michael Carbajal's downtown Phoenix Gym, where he trains under Tony and Michael Carbajal.
