She made her anticipated United States MMA debut on July 26, 2008 against Shayna Baszler at EliteXC: Unfinished Business, whom she defeated by TKO.
Cristiane was scheduled to face Dutch submission specialist Marloes Coenen at XMMA 7 on February 27, 2009, but backed out of the fight after signing a new contract with Strikeforce.
On Saturday, August 15th, in a fight that was billed as the biggest women's fight in MMA history, Cris ''Cyborg'' Santos defeated Gina Carano in dominating fashion to become the new Strikeforce Women's World Champion.

Great Weekend at IMMAE
Successful weekend at the International MMA Expo (IMMAE)
Eruption Inc. had a very successful showing at the International MMA Expo this past weekend (August 29 & 30, 2009).
The reception of the new clothing line was overwhelmingly positive and everyone had a great time.
Fans were also treated to have their pictures taken with, and getting autographs from, Team Eruption MMA fighters Shannon "The Cannon" Ritch, Cris Cyborg and Razor Rob McCullough as well as several other fighters including Marcus Gaines, Chris David and more.
